Our Cement Foundation Services

Our crew here at K&B can take on everything from pouring and curing a new base to fixing up an old one. Whether it's building a new home or foundation repair here in Billings MT, we can help! Here's a little bit more about the different services we offer:

Building New Ones

Our concrete company typically works with three main types of foundations. Each comes with its own advantages and disadvantages, and the information below should help you make an informed decision and clear up any confusion. Feel free to give us a call if you have any questions!
Slab
Concrete slab foundations are generally known for their affordability and simplicity. They resemble an oversized patio or slab, and are often lifted up a foot or two above ground level to keep water out of your home or business. Our cement foundation company begins building these by first digging out a hole around two feet deep. This is then backfilled with gravel and covered in a plastic wrap designed to keep the moisture in the ground from soaking into the concrete above. After pouring a slab around six to eight inches deep, we finish the surface, cut control joints, and level the surface with a concrete grinder. The outdoor edges of the foundation are often deeper than the rest of the cement, as this helps keep the base of the home more level as the ground underneath settles and shifts.
Crawl Space
Crawl spaces are a great way to mix the affordability of a slab foundation and the accessibility of a basement. While they don't provide enough room for living or storage space, they do give you easy access to plumbing and wiring running underneath your home or business.

Our Billings foundation construction crew starts the process by first excavating an area deep enough for the crawl space underneath. These are generally four to six feet deep and are then filled with gravel that will help support the house above. After forms have been put up, we'll pour the walls and footings underneath that will act as the base of your home. If you have any questions or simply want a free quote, feel free to give us call today at 406-283-3269 or simply fill out the form above!
Basement
When it comes to maximizing the space on your property and adding extra living and storage space to your home or business, you can't go wrong with a full basement. And while they are mostly underground, these don't have to seem like an underground dungeon. When built on a slope, concrete basement foundations offer great natural lighting and outdoor access.

Before installation begins, we'll grade and excavate the area we'll be working with. These cement foundations are typically poured in three pieces. We start with beams, followed by the floor, and finally, once the forms are in place, the walls. A steel "L" is often ran through the three of these to help tie the concrete together and keep out any water. Once any wet cement has cured and we've removed the forms, you're good to go ahead and begin framing your home or business.

Repairing Old Ones

Concrete foundation repair in Billings MT with our crew of specialized contractors, a dump truck, and mini excavator.
Foundations, although built to last, will eventually need to be patched up. Cracks can form in the floor and if the ground around it settles enough you'll be left with an uneven base. Fortunately, here at K&B, we can help take care of concrete foundation repair projects as well.

When it comes to sealing cracks, we'll often use a simple compound to patch the area, but when enough damage is present on the surface of your concrete, our foundation repair contractors may choose to resurface the area. If it's simply out of level, we'll often use a technique called concrete lifting. This involves injecting cement or foam underneath your home to help lift sagging cement back in to place.

If you're seeing lots of cracks or your floors are out of level, feel free to give us a call at 406-283-3269! Our concrete foundation repair company in Billings MT will get you back on track in no time!
